The Cloncurry Rugby Club will host the event at the Cloncurry Showgrounds which is expected to draw teams from across North and Central Queensland.
Cloncurry Rugby Club president Rohan Mills said six teams had entered in the competition and was expected to make a busy night of rugby action.
"We have teams from Cloncurry, Mount Isa, Barcaldine and Townsville have signed up for the event, Mr Mills said.
"Rugby Team, Curry Renegades and Curry Old Boys will represent Cloncurry, the Keas Rugby Club will travel across from Mount Isa, The Boars will travel from Barcaldine and a Townsville team have also entered."
Mr Mills said this was the only home game Cloncurry had hosted for the whole 2018/19 season.
"We don't have any home games despite being the Cloncurry team," he said.
" We have players from Cloncurry, Mount Isa and as far as Julia Creek. So this is an opportunity for us to prove that we can have more home games in Cloncurry during the regular season, so we hope that everyone will come down and support the evening."
After experiencing a devastating flood across the North West region, the Cloncurry Rugby Club hoped that it would provide a social opportunity for landholders to come into town and enjoy a night of rugby action.
"We started this event just to get the North West Queensland rugby teams together to play some rugby and enjoy the sport.
"Since the floods occurred we really look to put on a barbecue for farmers and bring the community together.
"Council have offered their support to put in a few extra teams, possibly including an army team but we are waiting confirmation.
"This event just provides an opportunity for the wider community to come together and watch a bit of rugby and try and forget about the hardship the region has witnessed and continues to face."
