The first race meeting of the 2019 season displayed an outstanding performance from local jockey's Dan Ballard and Tim Brummell who raked in placings on Saturday March 2.

Riding at the Beach themed race meeting, Tim Brummell finished the day with three second places and one third, while Dan Ballard received two first placings and one third.
The race day saw a lot of action on and off the track with hundreds of locals showing up to the track for the five race program.
Mount Isa Race Club president, Mick Tulley, said it was a good day with a good crowd of 300 people.
"The crowd was very supportive for the first race meeting of the season, attendees got to witness 39 nominated horses from across North West Queensland in some tight racing action," Mr Tulley said.
"The local jockeys rode a couple of winners and local trainer Scott Seymour experienced his first win in the first race with My Mind Is Madeup ridden by Jason Babarovich."
Results for the Steejo Press QTIS Maiden Plate 900m saw Jason Babarovich riding My Mind is Madeup take first place. Followed by Ray Hancock riding No Hat No Play in second and Tim Brummell on Power 'n' Design in third.
The Cava Hydraulics Class B Handicap 900m saw Kerry Krogh on Stole the Show claim first place, followed by Jason Babarovich on Watto's Jet in second place and Dan Ballard on Leica Celebre in third position.
The Trevor Morris Builders Ratings Band 0-65 Handicap 900m saw Ray Hancock on Night Attire (NZ) in first place, followed by Tamara Tincknell on Tempesta Rossa in second and Tim Brummell on Sugar Ray Red in third.
The Colonial Supermarket Class 2 Plate 1000m saw Dan Ballard win on Lord Windermere followed by Tim Brummell on The Big Sheila and Ray Hancock on Abba Original.
The final race, Book a Table St Pats Races Open Plate 1000m saw Dan Ballard win on Good Job Bro, followed by Tim Brummell on Clateau in second and Jason Babarovich on Born to Fire in third.
The next Race Meeting will be held on March 16 for the St Patrick's Day Races.
