Signs will change on he intersections of Mary and Miles Streets, Mary and Camooweal Streets, May and Miles Streets, and May and Camooweal Streets, with the give way signs at these intersections to be replaced with stop signs.
Council confirmed that the decision to switch the signs was made due to the large number of accidents that have occurred at those particular intersections in recent weeks.
"There have been three accidents in the past two weeks at one intersection alone," a spokesperson said.
"Motorists can familiarise themselves with the Queensland road rules requirements for stop-controlled intersections by visiting the Queensland Government transport page.
