The hall was transformed into a Alice in Wonderland scene complete with a huge white rabbit, the Mad Hatter, colourful mushrooms, a giant chair and even a wall of donuts.
The hard work of the committee showed in the glamour of the decorations.
Personal stories of families needing the Ronald McDonald House while seeking medical treatment were shared between musical entertainment and games and before the auction was held.
The evening raised funds for Ronald McDonald House North Queensland, based in Townville, which supports seriously ill children and their families.
The Ronald McDonald House North Australia Charity Ball Committee were delighted with how the theme was received by the guests.
Committee member Lauren Brown said even they were amazed at how well the decorations came together.
