The production's creator, entertainer Cilla Pershouse, has been singing the praises of farmers and combining her love of the land and the stage in her Blue Gum Farm TV program and live shows since 2015; an award-winning concept, performing more than 50 shows a year including the Jackie Howe Festival, featuring at Beef Week and the upcoming Northern Beef Producers Expo and Tree of Knowledge Festival.
The fourth-generation grazier has been named 'Woman of the Year' by the Queensland Rural, Regional, Remote Women's Network (QRRRWN) for her program's valuable contribution to rural children and communities.
The tour invites children to join in the special theatre masterclasses, exploring theatre arts in a workshop environment.
Classes are held prior to the KoalaRumba show time and most excitingly, participants will be offered a place on stage alongside the crew if they choose! A wonderful opportunity for rural children to experience the thrill of performance and show off their new skills in acting, singing and dancing.
The professional cast and facilitators impart a genuine enthusiasm for children learning about the bush and valuing the Arts. This makes them a standout team of educational entertainers.
The skits and songs of KoalaRumba are designed to be developmentally appropriate; short and easy to understand concepts engaging for young minds with short attention spans. With a treasury of new vocabulary and ideas, the catchy lyrics, rhythms and rhyme, inspire a love for language and learning.
Children will build confidence as they master the uncomplicated choreography and there is even tap dancing to teach kids the joy of creating rhythms and music without traditional instruments.
