Until now. This year she will perform at the biggest outback Australian event, along side a line up of superstars, like Amy Shark, US country stars Brett Eldredge and Jon Pardi, rockers San Cisco and Lime Cordiale.
34-year-old Missy Higgins said the most remote area she had been to perform was the Big Red Bash at Birdsville last year.
"The Big Red Bash was fun, so I'm really excited about performing and seeing a lot of the acts at the Winton Festival, like Amy Shark, San Cisco and John Williamson. I'm a big fan of them."
After the devastating drought and then the recent unprecedented floods Missy said the outback region had been doing it tough.
"The least we can do as performers is bring entertainment there way to provide a night or two to forget their worries."
"The best thing about music is when you listen you can forget everything and find solidarity, it brings a connection not only with the lyrics, but the community and like-minded people," she said.
2018 was a busy year for the songstress, in and out of the studio.
Missy released her fifth offering 'Solastalgia' on 27 April 2018.
The term solastalgia was coined by Professor Glenn Albrecht and is used to describe the distress of environmental change.
Later in 2018, Missy capped off the year with the release of 'The Special Ones' - a Best Of Collection.
The album features four previously unreleased tracks including new single 'Arrows' and the previously unheard demo of "All For Believing" that set her career in motion when she won Triple J Unearthed many years ago.

Missy also welcomed her second daughter, Luna, into the world in August 2018 with her husband, playwright and comedian Dan Lee.
"I'm undecided, but I think I will be bringing Luna and my husband to Winton for the festival and the Grandparents will watch our other children."
Missy and Dan got engaged in 2013, before tying the knot three years later in March, 2016.
The Winton Way Out West festival runs from the 25-28 April, 2019 and the community are ready to fling open the doors to their town to deliver Queensland with the year's best music.
