Ex Tropical Cyclone Trevor has made landfall east of Borroloola and now it's set to head back to Queensland - and that means rain for Mount Isa and parts south.

Trevor made landfall south of Borroloola on Saturday as a Category 4 and has now weakened to a tropical storm - but packing a lot of rain that is headed western Queensland way.
At 4am Queensland time ex-Tropical Cyclone Trevor was located over the northern Barkly district in the Territory. The system will move to the south during today and tomorrow and is expected to start impacting the northern Simpson District on tomorrow as it swings back east.
There will be locally destructive winds with peak gusts in excess of 140 km/h are possible with thunderstorms over the southern Carpentaria, eastern Barkly today and the eastern Barkly and northern Simpson Districts on Monday.
Damaging winds averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 100 km/h are expected within about 200km of the system centre as the cyclone tracks inland over the southern Carpentaria, eastern Barkly today and the eastern Barkly and northern Simpson Districts on Monday.
Winds are expected to strengthen over Tennant Creek during this morning, before easing on tonight and into Monday morning. The strongest wind gusts are expected in thunderstorms.
HEAVY RAIN which may lead to flash flooding is expected over the southern Carpentaria and Barkly Districts as the cyclone tracks inland, later extend into the Simpson District. 24 hour totals of 100 to 200mm are possible within 150km of the centre as the system moves inland.
Tides between Port McArthur and the NT/Qld Border will remain significantly above the normal high tide on Sunday morning, with large waves on the shoreline.

A Flood Watch has been issued for Carpentaria Coastal Rivers, Georgina River, Simpson Desert and the Barkly.
There is a 40% chance of rain in Mount Isa Sunday rising to 70% on Monday and 60% on Tuesday before decreasing again later in the week.
