Mayor Greg Campbell said the discount adds up to half a million dollars which is aimed at providing direct support, as well as giving people the opportunity to use the savings to spend with local businesses.
"I would also like to thank the Prime Minister for his continued support for the communities of the North West," he said.
"In addition to being able to offer a rates discount worth $500,000, there is a wide range of grants, loans and other assistance available".
All flood recovery assistance is being herded into one room for the "One-stop-shop" information session, organised for Friday April 5 at the Cloncurry Community Precinct. This session will bring all service providers, agencies and charities under one roof to help give people clarity on what is available to them.
