The event kicks off at Julia Creek swimming pool on Friday April 12 with the champions of the future competing in the junior tris and there will be presentations as well as novelty events and bands in the arena that night.
As well as the senior men's and women's triathlon on the Saturday there is a new event, the Lorna Jane Adventure Trail Runs (5.5,10,16km distances) featuring man-made and natural obstacles.

Registrations close Tuesday April 9 for the Trail Runs.
Then on Saturday afternoon the action moves trackside to McIntyre Park for the rich Artesian Express races.
Meanwhile the PBR on Saturday night is set for an exotic touch with some of the top 10 Brazilians riders contesting the event.
The fun concludes with the best butt competition on Saturday night with Hurricane Fall leading the entertainment on stage.
