A cooking class was organised on Thursday afternoon by Headspace Care Coordinator Michelle Nielsen, and is just one of the events catering for National Youth Week which ends on Sunday April 14.

Around 16 young people tended to the pots and pans to cook Coconut Chicken Curry from scratch and lucky the youth cooked for an Army because they received some unexpected visitors - Johnny Ruffo and some of the crew from Gidgee Healing.
Ms Nielsen said it was a surprise for the chefs to see Headspace Ambassador Johnny Ruffo walk in and want to help with the cooking.
The classes are usually run every fortnight.
"It's a regular cooking class, every second Thursday from 3-5pm, it's been running for the whole school term."
The large group of youth and service providers enjoyed the Coconut Chicken Curry saying 'they all loved it'.
Meanwhile on the other side of town Darling Brando, Last Kinection, the Australian Skater Boys and Hip Hop Dance crew Bro Code headed to Spinifex State College campuses, Good Shepherd Catholic College and to the Mount Isa Special School.
Vocational Specialist from the JobSpace Program Fay Tapu said Bro Code came with her to the Mount Isa Special School.
"They performed two workshops - one with the Primary cohort and the other with the Senior cohort - where they taught the young people Hip Hop dance moves," Ms Tapu said.
"There was lots of high energy involvement and the students had a blast.
"The music and dance became so contagious everyone got involved, even the teachers," she said.
On Friday afternoon from 4pm, The Unlimited Concert will kick off.
It is a drug and alcohol free event held for Youth Week 2019 at the Family Fun Park Precinct.
