Thousands of festival-goers have departed the small outback town of Julia Creek after an explosive weekend of triathlon, horse racing, butt shaking and rodeo action.
Barely two months after Julia Creek was devastated by the floods that swept through north west Queensland, about 3000 visitors from all corners of the country showed up for the 25th annual Dirt and Dust Festival.
The festival kicked off on Friday with the junior triathlon, bog snorkeling and pig races.
In the evening, everyone moved to Dirt n Dust Central for the thrills and spills of the Professional Bull Ride which saw Will Purcell take the champion title.
2019 saw the festival extended to Sunday with the Show and Shine and Car Show featuring some old-school classics.
