Peter Andrew Dunn pleaded guilty in Mount Isa Magistrates Court on Monday, April 15, to driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle and driving without a licence.
Dunn just escaped a prison sentence due to his previous history of traffic offences and received a further three-year licence disqualification and a $1000 fine.
The police prosecution told the court how police intercepted a vehicle travelling along Miles Street on March 2 and conducted checks of the vehicle.
The car was 451 days past registration, uninsured and Dunn was driving with a two year disqualified licence.
Police prosecution said "Dunn provided no emergency reason to be driving the vehicle and said he was moving it to a safer place as it had a smashed window".
Dunn received fines on the spot and the plates of the vehicle were confiscated.
Magistrate James Morton addressed Dunn and said "What will it take you to learn your lesson?"
"You are a stupid person. I gave you a stern warning last time you were in here," he said.
"Does it take a jail sentence for you to take this seriously?"
Magistrate Morton sentenced Dunn to a further three year licence disqualification and a $1000 fine.
