From April 17 to May 8, Mount Isa shoppers can support the appeal by purchasing a $3 teal ribbon or $4 pen at Coles in Mount Isa, with 100 per cent of funds going directly to Ovarian Cancer Australia to fund vital advocacy, research and support for those affected by the disease.

Ovarian cancer has the lowest survival rate of any women's cancer, with four Australian women diagnosed with the disease each day - most of them already at an advanced stage of the cancer.

Ovarian Cancer Australia CEO Jane Hill said the much-needed funds would help educate more Australian women on the issue of ovarian cancer and help to change the story of the disease.

"At present, 75 per cent of women with ovarian cancer are diagnosed at an advanced stage where the cancer has spread to other areas of the body, making it more difficult to treat successfully," Ms Hill said.

"And while women have an 85 per cent chance of survival if ovarian cancer is diagnosed in its early stages, there is currently no reliable screening test for early diagnosis.

"This is why it is vital for women to know and recognise the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, which most commonly include abdominal or pelvic pain, increased abdominal size or persistent bloating, the need to urinate often or urgently, or feeling full after eating a small amount."

Coles State General Manager Jerry Farrell said Coles was proud to support Ovarian Cancer Australia in its mission to increase funding and improve survival rates for women diagnosed in our communities.

"Our team members and customers have shown their dedication to this essential cause over the course of our partnership with Ovarian Cancer Australia, and it's incredible to see the Mount Isa community dig deep for ovarian cancer year upon year," Mr Farrell said.

"We hope this year is no exception, and look forward to seeing generous teams and shoppers go above and beyond to drive awareness of the signs and symptoms, and support for this important cause."

Coles' partnership with Ovarian Cancer Australia began in 2014 in memory of Coles Queensland team member Mary Waters, who sadly lost her battle with ovarian cancer.

During the past five years, Coles and its customers in Queensland have raised more than $260,000 for Ovarian Cancer Australia.
