The Burketown Barramundi Fishing Organization Inc held its fishing championships with up to $3900 on offer for the biggest barra.
The 39th World Barramundi Fishing Competition brought competitors from all over to throw a line.
Burketown Barramundi Fishing Organization president Garry Jeffries said they had 265 nominations in total in juniors and seniors, slightly down on previous years which average around 300 to 340.
"We didn't do anything different this year," Mr Jeffries said. "We put it down to the flooding and cyclone."
Mr Jeffries said the fishing weights were also slight down.
"The winning fish was a good one, he was 13 plus kilos, but there was a drop to the second just under eight kilos," he said.
"There was good competition between all the juniors."
Mr Jeffries said the biggest attraction was the lucky nomination prize of a $5000 BCF voucher which went to local Kenny Page.
Clinton Murray won the junior prize.
