The Women in Rural, Regional and Remote Enterprises (WiRE) program will host its sixth business bootcamp in Mount Isa on May 9-10 at the Red Earth Hotel, to encourage local entrepreneurs to sought information on developing a business.
WiRE program director Retha Wiesner said Business Women's Bootcamp was a two day consultation with experts and other like-minded women who want to start or grow their business.
"We are expecting a great range of women from Mount Isa and across the North West to join the bootcamp, share ideas and just learn about the whole aspect of how to effectively start and run a business," Ms Wiesner said.
"If women have an idea of a business they would like to start, want to improve or grow an existing business or just interested in the developmental aspects of a business; I encourage them to attend.
"There are 30 positions available and we already have 23-24 people currently booked in, so there are a few places left."
Ms Wiesner said the bootcamp would cover a wide range of information to run a successful business.
"In the bootcamp, we go through the process of women knowing their self as entrepreneurial women, looking at what problem they want to solve in their business or idea, looking into who their ideal customer is, help validate their ideas, checking key fundamentals in running a business and also branding and marketing a business," she said.
"There will be support from experienced facilitators and mentors as well as interactive group sessions to meet, share and build new networks with like-minded peers in the Mount Isa region."
The WiRE Business Women's Bootcamp is fully funded by the Queensland Government and will not cost participants to attend. Lunch and afternoon tea are supplied.
The program will run from Thursday May 9, 10.00am - 5.00pm and Friday May 10, 8.00am - 3.00pm.
