Townsville Hockey Association donated half a field of undamaged synthetic turf to the Mount Isa club after suffering significant flood damage in February.
MIHA president Ryan Philip said Townsville suffered a lot and were still kind enough to donate the only turf that was undamaged valued at $100,000.
"We are very grateful for the donation and also the local businesses who got it to Mount Isa including WWATS and Barkly Hire," Mr Philip said.
"We plan to lay the synthetic turf as soon as possible, but are currently looking for people to assist with a grader to level the field out."
Once the turf is laid, Mr Philip said juniors could start training for competitions and develop their skills.
"All state championship competitions are played on synthetic turf, so before this donation we were at a disadvantage," he said.
"Now we have the turf, players can practice and have an idea of how it will feel when they get over to a competition, because it is completely different to just playing on a grass field."
MIHA are unable to purchase another half field of turf due to costs but said what they had received would continue to benefit the club.
"It would be great if we could have a whole field but it costs $1.2 million to lay a whole brand new field," Mr Philip said.
"It would be a long term dream to have a full field of synthetic turf because we could then host state championships and this would bring a lot of teams to the area and be great for the local economy."
MIHA thanked Townsville Hockey Association for their generous contribution to their club.
Townsville Hockey responded saying, "whilst we work hard to rebuild our fields and facility after the floods it was wonderful to be able provide Mount Isa with this opportunity."
