Hundreds of keen punters, locals and tourists converged to the Gregory Jockey Club for the annual race meet held inconjunction with the Saddle and Paddle canoe race last weekend.

And it didn't disappoint.
There was plenty going on throughout the day with Fashions on the Field, kids foot races, the Calcutta Savannah Lodge and Aviation Gregory Gift Footrace and a dinner and music until late.
The fun continued on Sunday with the annual Saddle and Paddle.

The first race started after lunch at 1.15pm with the Brodie & Co Benchmark 50 Handicap of 800m.
Seven-year-old gelding Ready Zaim Fire took first place followed by Stole the Show and Born to Fire.
The Custom Steel Fab - Kevin Malone Memorial QTIS Maiden Plate of 1150m saw Violet Jane cross the finish line ridden by jockey Tamara Morris, followed by Rock Tsar and Clarion.
Dutton Bay was first across the finish line in Race three, the Niverak Smash Repairs Benchmark 45 Handicap 1150m, with a starting price of $15.
Trainer and Jockey Jason Babarovich was over the moon.
Coming in second was Dreamward Bound followed by Hunting.
Race four, the Clemments Electrical Benchmark 65 Handicap 1150m, saw Dan Ballard atop the winning horse, Brooklands, coming in second was Leica Celebre then Snippy Strategic.
Race five was the Burke Shire Cup Outback Racing Showcase Heat Open Handicap of 1300m, the second longest race of the day.
In a time of 1-21.37, Loud Enough galloped home.
Clateau and Good Job Bro came respectively second and third.
The final race Almora Station Benchmark 60 Handicap of 1500m began at 5pm and four-year-old gelding Fire Ranger sped home, followed by Two of a Kind then Zumari.
In an appreciation post on Facebook the Club said events like these are not possible without wonderful volunteers.
"A shout out to two men, Johnnie and AJ, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes for weeks before the races," the post said.
