FORMER officer-in-charge of Camooweal Police Station Daniel Allan Baker's court case drags on two years after he was originally charged.

Mr Baker's case was adjourned again in Mount Isa Magistrates Court on Thursday May 9, as he faces 11 charges of fraud, misconduct and stealing.
Mr Baker was excused from appearing and his Legal Aid Queensland representative told the court that he was still going through the large brief of evidence and was seeking advice on making an application for bail.
Magistrate James Morton questioned the statement.
"Making an application? He went missing when he was last on bail."
The Legal Aid representative did not respond.
Mr Baker's case was adjourned until June 10 for committal mention. He remains in custody in Townsville and will appear via video link at the next date.
Mr Baker resigned from the Queensland Police Service in March 2017 before disciplinary action could be taken against him he was then extradited from the Northern Territory by officers from the Queensland Police Service Ethical Standards Command and charged in July 2017.
He was granted parole on the condition he not leave Queensland, visit Camooweal or make contact with anybody there.
At the following mention in October 30, police prosecution made a file of evidence to proceed with a committal mention, however Mr Baker failed to appear.
His Legal Aid Queensland solicitor Rhianna Batt applied for a weeks adjournment and said she had "lost contact with Mr Baker".
A warrant for Mr Baker's arrest was released the following week when he failed to make contact with his solicitor and failed to appear in Mount Isa Magistrates Court on November 2017.
The search for the former Camooweal police officer remained outstanding until February 2019, when Mr Baker was located in Darwin.
He had been missing for 15 months at the time of his arrest and was extradited to Queensland to face his charges for the second time.
