When Kayla Cherry and Malcolm Willis learnt of their pregnancy, they did not expect they would meet their son on such an iconic day.
Blake Keith Wayne Willis was born on Mother's Day (May 12) at Mount Isa Hospital at 12.04pm weighing 8 pounds and 15 ounces.
Baby Blake came into the world two days before his due date after a seven hour, natural labour and was the second generation to be born on Mother's Day, sharing his birthday with his mum.
"It was a nice surprise, I didn't think he was going to come so soon," Kayla said.
"It was a nice little surprise and I am looking forward to sharing Mother's Day and my birthday with him each year."

Kayla and Malcolm said they were overjoyed with the delivery of a healthy little boy.
"It was lovely to have a little boy, now we have one of each," she said.
"We have a daughter also and she was not too happy when we first told her about her new sibling, but she is slowly warming up to the idea of having a little brother."
Kayla plans to return home from hospital on Tuesday.
