The Isa Rats are hosting a 3-race series of Duathlons this winter with the final race part of the Glencore Great Western Games which is held on the last weekend of June.

Race 1 of the run, bike, run series will be held on Sunday May 19 at Lake Moondarra with sign on at 6.30am, race brief at 7.15am, and race start 7.30am.
The standard race distances cover a 10km run, 40km bike, 5km run.
The sprint division distances are 5km run, 20km bike, 2.5km run.
Race 2 in the Duathlon Series is scheduled for Sunday June 2 at Lake Moondarra with sign on, briefing and race start consistent with Race 1.
The first two races in the series are a build up to Race 3 which is incorporated with the Great Western Games and includes Elite, Open, Masters and Veterans categories for both Sprint and Standard Distance.
President of the Isa Rats Kim Alcorn said Race 1 and 2 will get you familiar with the run/bike/run discipline structure and a course overview.
"Athletes do not need to race in all three to take part in the Great Western Games Race 3," Alcorn said.
"Entry fees for Race 1 and 2 are $40 for non-members and $30 for IsaRATS and TriAus members."
Race 3 will be held on Sunday June 23 at Lake Moondarra with presentations and prizes to follow.
"Race 3 entry fees are a little higher, $60 for non-members and $50 for IsaRATS and TriAus members," Alcorn said.
"Plus an additional $10 for the Great Western Games admin fee per person."
The North Queensland Sports Foundation were pleased to announce the Duathlon as a sport for the 2019 Glencore Great Western Games.
The multi-sport event hosted by the NQSF is held biennially in north-west Queensland along the Overlander's Way between Charters Towers and Mount Isa.
NQSF partners with Glencore, Mount Isa City Council, Official Followmont Transport Pty Ltd and Tourism Events Queensland.
Alcorn said they are also looking for volunteers to help with the series.
