Most people would know Annette as a singer/songwriter who performs at The Shack but now she is getting into the visual arts using unusual elements such as milk, food colouring and dishwashing liquid.
"There's about 20 works hanging here but not all of them are paintings, most are photography," Annette said.
"It is not my forte, but it's something that I discovered a few months ago and I thought they looked amazing."
The long-time Mount Isa resident said she has always been creative. "I've always painted and done other creative stuff, mosaics and tie-dye and anything you can think of," she said.
"It's an expensive hubby and my friends and family encouraged me to do something with it and I spoke to (Arvo's owner) Deb (Howie) and she always encourages local artists so here's my first exhibition ever at 53!"
Annette's work, collectively called Colours and Kindness, is on view at Arvos until July and is for sale.
"The colours represented all the photographic prints I take and the kindness is about the drawings in the paintings," she said.
