QFES have confirmed that five fire crews are still on scene with the assistance of Mount Isa City Council.

It is believed that the fire started at the back of the property at 6am, potentially caused by scrap metal and vehicles.

Mount Isa Fire and Emergency Service crews are working to control a fire at a local business on Duchess Road.
Four crews were tasked to Mount Isa Metal Recyclers at 6am on Tuesday May 28, due to a fire at the back of the property.
A QFES media spokesperson said initial reports from crews on the scene believed it was scrap metal on fire.
"There is significant smoke in the area and crews are working to control the fire," she said.
"At this stage there are no immediate risks with the fire, however we do ask anyone affected by the smoke to close windows, doors and avoid the area."
QFES also said smoke was affecting vision on roads so motorists needed to be careful.
Mount Isa Metal Recyclers are one of two local places along with Council designated as a container refund centre.
