Aimee Sewell was inspired to enter the Rodeo Queen Quest after supporting a fellow Police officer who won the 2015 Rodeo Queen title.
"2015 was my first year of policing in Mount Isa and my colleague was award Rodeo Queen," Ms Sewell said.
"I supported her by attending some of her events, she was raising money for Neighbourhood Watch. I thought what a great way to get our message heard in community.
As the Mount Isa region is well-aware Aimee Sewell is vying for the titles in this year's Isa Rodeo Queen Quest.
It's a great platform to share really important messages," she said.
Ms Sewell is fundraising she Police Citizens Youth Club and has launched several events since October last year, such as Cyber Safety presentations, free discos, trivia nights and car boot sales.
But Ms Sewell said her priority was to fundraise through service - giving back to the community.
Throughout the fundraising period Ms Sewell enlisted the help of many volunteers and they were dubbed Aimee's Army.
"My volunteers and I work the bar at the Mount Isa Race Club and the Breath and Go Stations and bars at other big events in Camooweal, Boulia,Julia Creek and Mount Isa," Ms Sewell said.
"We'd rather not take from the community, but want to give back that way we help and support by providing a service."
Ms Sewell is raising funds for a new PCYC bus.
"At the start of this year one of our PCYC buses was decommissioned, so we only have one left which is shared through several departments including after school and child care.
"A second bus would be utilised specifically for the Mount Isa community and hired by community groups and schools to transport young people."
The 2019 Isa Rodeo Queen Quest is wrapping up for the year so don't forget to support your local 'queens'.
