The Mount Isa Irish Club Eisteddfod is outback Queensland's largest and most diverse youth performing arts challenge.
This year, the Eisteddfod will run from 7 to 16 June, incorporating ten days of high energy dance, moving drama, beautiful music and literary works, with tickets available to the public.
This year, the event has attracted a record number of entries, with more than 1000 performances on show, including a range of new and reinvigorated sections providing regional kids even more opportunity to flex their creative muscles.
All sessions are open to the public, with tickets available for individual day sessions for just $3 and evening sessions for $5. Entry for children under 12 and pensioners is free, and all session season passes are available from just $20.
Guests can access light meals and snacks during day sessions, and a cash bar during evening sessions with wine and beer available for purchase.
Mount Isa Eisteddfod Association President Daniel Johnson said the committee has worked hard to provide a fun, positive experience for competitors and their supporters, as well as an engaging and accessible live theatre experience for community and visitors in 2019.
"We're proud of our rich history and really excited to be part of the Mount Isa Irish Club Eisteddfod's continued growth and evolution," Mr Johnson said.
"The event would not be possible without the generosity of the sponsors, volunteers, and community that have supported the eisteddfod for more than half a century.
"We are incredibly grateful for the support of our Naming Rights sponsor, the Mount Isa Irish Club; our Gold Sponsors, Glencore, and Incitec Pivot; our Silver Sponsors, Alliance Airlines and DiLi - Dream it Live it; our Copper Sponsors, the Mount Isa School of Dance, Mount Isa Theatrical Society, and North West Gymnastics; and our Community Sponsors, Splitz Mount Isa, Branches Performing Arts, Bella Obsessions, Mount Isa Insurance Consultants and Rob Katter MP, Member for Traeger."
The Mount Irish Club Eisteddfod kicks off at 8am tomorrow, Friday June 7 at the Mount Isa Civic Centre Theatre. Tickets are available at the door.
