The cries from the crowd were loud enough when Loud Enough crossed the line in the final race of the day in Mount Isa on Saturday.
Loud Enough, trained by Stephen Royes and ridden by Tim Brummell had just taken out the Isa and Red Earth Hotels Mount Isa Cup Open Handicap for 2019.
It wasn't just his connections shouting with those backing the chestnut gelding celebrating as the $5 chance romped home by four and half lengths from Fire Ranger with Royal Script third. Royes wasn't surprised by the performance. "I set him out for this race," he said.
It was the culmination of six great races in front of a big and glamorous crowd.
In Race 1 the Cava Hydraulics Benchmark 60 handicap, Jay Morris's Le Drama with Aaron Spradau aboard won by half a length from King Solomon and Zumari.
The Tanya Parry / Dan Ballard combo got in on the act in Race 2 Steejo Press Benchmark 50 Handicap with Ready Zaim Fire three lengths clear of Born to Fire and Encorada.
In Race 3 20/1 shot Believe It or Not won, believe it or not, for jockey Tamara Morris and trainer Denise Ballard winning by a length from Leica Celebre and Sinamore.
The favourite had better luck in Race 4 Mount Isa Mining Supplies Maiden Plate with Jason Babarovich winning about Kerry Krogh's $2 chance Rock Tsar by three and a half lengths from Dawn Assault and Strykingly So.
The Morris/Spradau combo made it a double in Race 5 Trevor Morris Builders Coppermart Open Quality Handicap with favourite Le Chef winning by one length from Good Job Bro and Travel in Style.
