The SES volunteers create a crucial part of community recovery when responding to major events in the region.
Sergeant Cath Purcell said SES members attended regular training in disaster recovery, and often put the needs of others first, before their own.
"Their disaster and response training makes them highly desirable for other emergency services roles," Sgt Purcell said.
"In outback Queensland, we respond to a diverse range of emergencies, which often require a multi-agency approach.
"We welcome them to the Emergency Services Group at Julia Creek, and thank you for the commitment you have made to the community."
