Mayor Joyce McCulloch said Council was calling for schools, community groups, businesses and individuals interested in joining the Street Parade, which will run as part of this year's Isa Street Festival.
"The Street Parade is a chance for the Mount Isa community to come together and celebrate Rodeo Week and start some new traditions," Cr McCulloch said.
"We would like to encourage as many people as possible to take part in this year's parade.
"Being part of the parade is something I would recommend to all schools, community groups, businesses and organisations. It's a rewarding experience to contribute to one of our community's key events."
The theme of this year's Street Parade will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Riversleigh Fossil fields discovery with the theme "Living Fossils".
There is $4000 of prize money up for grabs, shared between categories of Best Business Entry, Best Community Entry, Best School Entry, and Best Themed Entry.
Entry forms, conditions of entry and parade category details can be found on Mount Isa City Council's website: www.mountisa.qld.gov.au/2019-isa-street-festival
Interested parade entrants are asked to register by Friday July 19, by completing the website form and returning to events@mountisa.qld.gov.au
