The games were moved to Sunday due to the Mount Isa Cup but that was just a minor inconvenience for Townies who won their fifth match straight, repeating their Round 1 win over Wanderers.
The Devils impressed early putting a try on the board in the opening minutes and then swapping tries to lead 10-6 after a quarter of an hour.
But that was as good as it got for Wanderers as the premiers found their rhythm and the boy in the blue wilted in the afternoon heat.
They did not cross Town's line again though only 20-10 down at the break, they were still in with a chance.
However they were steamrolled in the second half with Townies adding seven tries to zip at the other end to win 56-10.
In the other game, Black Stars gained revenge for their Round 1 defeat to Brothers.
With an hour on the clock the Starries led by just six points as Brothers appeared to have momentum.
But Black Stars finished strongly and scored 14 unanswered points to win the game 40-26.
Ladder with games played in brackets Town 10 (5), Black Stars 6 (5), Brothers 4 (5), Cloncurry 2 (4), Wanderers 2 (5).
There are no games this weekend due to the outback carnival in Barcaldine.
