The 14-year-old, who attends St Josephs Catholic Cloncurry, has finished in the top 10 finalists in the Australian Professional Rodeo Juniors and now will take part in the finals in emerald on the weekend of June 21-22.
Cody enters the finals as # 7 Competitor in Team Roping (Header) and will be competing on his horse Scat
Cody is also a member of the Australasian Team Roping Association and various local associations including the Mount Isa Rodeo series and competes at local rodeos such as Quamby, Dajarra and Normanton.
At these events he competes in Junior Breakaway Roping, Junior Team Roping, Open Team Roping and Junior Barrel Racing
Apart from doing well in Emerald, Cody's goal this year is to win the Junior Team Roping with Aaron Bookluck at the biggest rodeo of them all - the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo
