The Events Conference on Tuesday August 6 at the Cloncurry Community Precinct.
A networking function will also be held the afternoon prior on Monday August 5 in Cloncurry.
A Cloncurry Shire Council spokesperson said the announcement was very exciting for Cloncurry and the Outback.
"We are the first outback region to host this conference," council said.
"Event organisers, local councils and tourism industry stakeholders are encouraged to register for the free event in 'Queensland's Friendliest Town', Cloncurry.
This year's theme is "How our Past Shapes our Future" and keynote speaker Sir Bob Parker, the former Mayor of Christchurch, will talk about the impact of earthquakes on the city of Christchurch, and how to plan for and bounce back from disasters.
Tourism Event's Queensland said the DestinationQ 2019 Events Conference aims to develop and enhance events throughout Queensland and is is a one-day forum for Queensland's event organisers, tourism operators and stakeholders and is free to attend.
Their It's Live! in Queensland events calendar is expected to generate $800 million to the state's economy in 2019 and hosting this conference is a vital part of TEQ's strategy to build the industry's capacity to host major and destination events that provide returns for the tourism industry.
The event is a coup for Cloncurry which also hosted the outback tourism awards in 2017.
