Alison Whitehead has a lot of ultra trail runs in her time but perhaps nothing she has done is as crazy as the task she has set herself this weekend.

Starting in the cool breeze of dawn at 7am on Friday June 21, Alison is running (or walking) up and down Mount Isa's Telstra Hill - not just once but 110 times.
By the end of it, sometime late Saturday afternoon she will have climbed the 8848 metre elevation of Mount Everest.
The North West Star caught up with Alison accompanied by Paul, early Friday morning as she was doing lap number nine - with a mere 101 to go.
"It's going well, but it's early days," Alison said.
"It was cold early, I had a jumper on and gloves but they didn't last long."
Alison said she was doing the challenge as a fundraiser for mental health.
"I'm trying to bring awareness to people's mental fitness," she said.
"People should consider doing something for their mental health on a daily basis just like they do for physical activity."
The Go Fund Me campaign for North West Queensland Mental Health Network had a target of $2000 but has already raised $7000.
Alison is encouraging anyone who wants to join her come out for a lap.
