Railway Avenue has been reopened to the public after an incident this afternoon.
A man had locked himself inside a house on the street this afternoon and police were called to the premises.
A family member told the North West Star two men receiving full time health care were living in the premises.
Heavily armed police were seen outside the premises before the incident was brought under control.
A man was taken to hospital for assessment after the incident.
The area was cordoned off for over an hour which police said was "for public safety."

Mount Isa residents are being urged to stay away from Railway Avenue as Queensland Police enforce an exclusion zone affecting traffic.
Police were called to an unconfirmed address in the vicinity of Kurrajong Street and Railway Avenue in Parkside, at 5.30pm on Wednesday June 26.
The exclusion zone was quickly enforced by local authorities and local traffic is being diverted away from the incident.
Multiple police authorities are on the scene, as well as Queensland Ambulance Service.
Details on the situation remain sketchy at this stage.
