A Mount Isa youth has been charged with stealing a car. Police said the boy entered an unlocked vehicle the in Overlander carpark noon Friday June 21, found the keys in a sun visor and drove away.

At 6.20am June 22, police were patrolling Abel Smith Pde when they observed the vehicle driving erratically.
The vehicle failed to stop for police and disappeared up Short St. The vehicle was located on Arline St at 1pm.
Police notified the registered owner of the vehicle, who was unaware that the vehicle had been stolen.
A 14-year-old Townview boy has been charged with stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act and investigations are continuing into the evade police offence.
