The original 'Cloncurry Cops' page was deactivated two years ago in July 2017, due to a standardisation in media policy across the Queensland Police Service.
But has since completed required compliance-based training to get it back up and running as a new page called myPolice Cloncurry.
The first post on the new page said the function of the page would operate much the same as the old one.
"We will share operational policing matters of interest, requests seeking your help in policing matters, advice when our highways are closed, and good news stories focusing on our local Police," the page said.
"We are very happy to be back in a position to keep you informed on all things policing in our Shire."
The new Facebook page is part of a 12 month trial across Queensland at selected police stations.
"Much based on the success of our Cloncurry Cops page, we have been fortunate enough to be one of the stations chosen to be part of this trial," the page said.
"The content we put on the page, community support and community reaction will be just some of the things monitored by our state administrators in the south east assessing the success or otherwise of the trial.
"We look forward to your support in that regard."
However it was also highlighted that the facebook page was not a place to report crimes or incidents in progress. All emergencies are to be reported to "triple zero (000)" and contact the Cloncurry Police Station on 4742 8888 or Police Link (131 444, online or the app) to report non-urgent matters or general inquiries.
