However with event planning now in full swing, we are all excited to commence the festivities.
Mount Isa City Council's largest annual event, the Isa Street Festival heralds the beginning of Rodeo Week.
The Isa Street Festival is the largest free, all-inclusive event of the year for the community.
This year it featured main stage with headline act Rai Thistlewaite of Thirsty Merc.
There will also be local and roving entertainment plus a photo booth with football superstar Johnathan Thurston.
There is also a beer garden, food and drink stalls, side show alley and of course, the Street Parade.
The Isa Street Festival is on Wednesday August 8.
I hope to see you all out and about at the Street Festival as there truly is something for everyone.
In the lead up to Rodeo week in the city we've also had an incredible calendar of events available to us.
These events include Mount Isa City Council's Queensland Day Beef, Beats and Beach, Morning Melodies Senior's Morning Tea, and our Naidoc Week event.
There was also the Isaiah Firebrace workshop and concert, and Pet Day 2019 on the weekend.
The Mount Isa Show, Great Western Games, Mount Isa Campdraft, and Queensland Music Festival's Mount Isa Blast added to the schedule.
As with many of these events, it is simply not possible without the incredible determination and dedication of numerous volunteers.
These volunteers are passionate about enhancing the liveability of our great city and offering opportunities for all.
This Council is incredibly supportive of our community events and cultural pursuits, as it not only provides opportunities for our residents, but boosts the ever-expanding tourism opportunities available for our city as well.
I look forward to seeing you all out and about at the many exciting events and occasions on the future months.
