NSW cowboy Anthony Caldwell will be the rider to beat in the open saddle bronc at the Richmond Rodeo on Saturday. Last Saturday, Caldwell won the saddle bronc at the Taroom Rodeo with a score of 81.5 points to finish one ahead of Wandoan rider Cameron Webster.

While Webster has not nominated for Richmond on Saturday, four of the five placegetters from Taroom will be in action. James Sclanders (78) was third at Taroom ahead of joint fourth placegetters Gavin Fry and Liam Beamish. Fry hails from Hughenden and will be aiming to win at nearby Richmond.
Winners Bailey Woodard and Cameron Southern were the only riders to make time in the bull ride so they shared the prizemoney. There were plenty of locals to cheer about at the Taroom Rodeo with David Worsfold from Wandoan the winner with 79 points from Tumbarumba (NSW) cowboy Ben Hall.
Taroom rider James McGuire-Spalding was fourth in steer wrestling behind winner Lachlan O'Neill from Caboolture. Sharon McGuire, Taroom was fifth in breakaway roping.
Moree rider and past APRA all around cowgirl champion Wendy Caban won the barrel race at Taroom and was fourth in breakaway roping but is not travelling to North Queensland this weekend.
