This year celebrates the 65th Anniversary Rodeo for Cloncurry - an exciting milestone for an event that has always been organised by those passionate about the future of rodeo as a sport.
Since the very beginning, there have been several experienced rodeo competitors step up to join the committee of dedicated volunteers, ensuring that the Curry Merry Muster Festival stays true to its values.
According to president Janessa Bidgood the festival, this Friday to Sunday, August 2 - 4, has a strong focus on the heritage of rodeo in the region and provides the best entertainment for the whole family.
"Over the years there has been different events introduced to the program including Bush Poets Breakfast, an event that attracts over 200 tourists and locals to enjoy a home cooked brekkie, and some incredible local talent in Keith Douglas and Jarrod Slater," she said.
The Little Cowbears Picnic provides the perfect opportunity for the kids to get in on the fun, with children dressing themselves and their best teddy friend up as cowboys and even 'bucking' a toy bull out of the chute.
"In recent years the addition of Xtreme Bulls and Brophy's Boxing Tent has proved more than successful with the crowds growing year after year," said Janessa. "This year will be no exception with expected crowds to be the biggest ever!"
The excitement of having country rock band The Wolfe Bros attend this year is only adding to the intense build up of this great event complete with trade stalls, raffles and a street parade.
"These guys have completely cleaned up in awards in 2019 and are going to bring a great vibe to the Curry Merry Muster."
The committee is strong, dedicated and committed to making this event the best in Queensland and Australia.
Janessa said that the team work endless hours to ensure this event comes together "like cake" and is the most fun for everyone involved.
"We can't wait to see you and your family at the 2019 Ernest Henry Mining Curry Merry Muster Festival to enjoy the rodeo, the music, the food, the shopping and the giveaways, you will have the time of your life!"
