Thirty players including two from Mount Isa qualified for the final leg which had the hole in one opportunity on the modified par 3 18th hole.
But although two players made birdies, none was good enough for the hole in one.
The failure did not dampen a party atmosphere at Mount Isa Golf Club with the evening finishing with dinner under the stars and a special concert from locally-born didgeridoo master William Barton.
They were there for the Outback Queensland Masters which attracted over 800 competitors and social players from all over Australia.

Tourism Industry Development Minister Kate Jones said the tournament, designed to encourage people to travel in the year of the outback, would reach new heights in 2020.
"People loved this year's events and we expect the 2020 series of tournaments to be bigger and better, providing even more opportunity for people to tee off among the epic scenery of Outback Queensland," Ms Jones said.
Luke Bates, Golf Operations and State Senior Manager - Queensland, Golf Australia said that in addition to spurring interest in young people of remote Queensland to take an interest in golf, the golf clubs gained exposure and financial benefit through the Outback Queensland Masters.
Golf Australia is extremely proud of the role the golf clubs have played this year and we look forward to working with the new clubs next year." Mr Bates said
