Northern Territory Police have charged a 34-year-old man with multiple offences following a short pursuit in Alpurrurulam.

Police were conducting patrols when they observed a vehicle with no registration plates travelling west along Awerr Awerr Road around 11:20pm on July 26.
Police attempted to apprehend the vehicle however it failed to stop and a pursuit was commenced.
The pursuit continued down a dirt road where the vehicle accelerated heavily before losing traction and coming to an abrupt stop.
Police searched the vehicle and seized a number of 4.4 litres casks of wine, beer and liquor.
The vehicle was seized for grog running and the vehicle passengers were issued with liquor infringement notices.
The 34-year-old man was arrested and conveyed to Alpurrurulam Police Station where he was subjected to a breath analysis for alcohol which returned a result of 0.148.
He was granted bail by the local court and is due to appear at the next Arlparra Court sittings.
He was charged with Drive Vehicle Dangerous Manner During Pursuit, Fail To Obey Direction Of Police Officer, Drive Medium Range Breath Alcohol Content, Drive Unlicensed, Drive Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Drive Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Transport Liquor Into Alcohol Protected Area, Possess / Control Liquor In Alcohol Protected Area, Drive Motor Vehicle Unsafe To Drive, Number Plates Not Attached and Drive Vehicle Causing Loss Of Traction.
