With regulation and decision making processes more complex these days, there is an increased need for independent and qualified accountancy and taxation advice.
Businesses need specialised skills and knowledge in order to find the best solutions to business issues and to make good decisions, according to O'Regan & Partners senior partner and director Peter O'Regan.
"There is an increase in complexity in our world with constant and complex tax changes, general increase in regulatory burden, society demanding more transparency from business and from an audit perspective, organisations need to provide assurance in order to increase trust in their financial statements and overall business."
O'Regan & Partners is a full service public accountancy practice offering taxation, accountancy services, IT support and training, audit services, self managed superannuation accounting services, local government accounting support and consultancy and services to indigenous organisations.
In order to provide these range of services at a quality level, a multidisciplinary approach is essential and O'Regan & Partners has a team of enthusiastic and skilled people at its various locations.

- Peter O'Regan.
Mr O'Regan founded the business 28 year ago in Longreach before expanding to Winton, Emerald, Cloncurry, Townsville, St George and Brisbane, opening the Mount Isa office in 2006.
"All our partners and senior managers live in Mount Isa, Townsville or Emerald. Our Brisbane office is largely set up to provide back office support for the other offices as this gives us ready access to talented junior staff including graduates."
This enables the business to maintain a high standard of work and advice as it always has a quality pool of young accountants.
"We believe we are a good example of a business with people from a diverse background and with all working harmoniously together," Mr O'Regan said.
The business also provides sponsorship to community, sporting and cultural groups and assists some smaller not for profit organisations and indigenous groups.

Mr O'Regan is presently the Queensland State Chair of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, regularly travelling throughout Queensland to attend events, training days and meetings to discuss members issues with other chartered accountants.
"It is rare for the state chair to come from regional Queensland let alone North West Queensland so it is a great honour to be elected to that role."
Chartered accountants advocate in the public interest on policy areas impacting on its profession and the wider community.
