A crime scene was declared and two victims were transported to hospital.
It is alleged two men had attended the address between the hours of 12am and 1am that morning. It is further alleged that one of the men has pushed past a female occupant, as she opened a sliding door and the other remained in the yard.
The man has entered the male resident's bedroom and demanded money to which he was denied, escorted to the front door and pushed out into the yard. This man has then began striking the male resident with a golf club.
It is alleged the second man has then placed a metal pole in the door frame, to prevent the woman from closing the sliding door. One of the men then used this pole to strike the woman in both the right temple and right knee.
Police will allege the male resident was further assaulted, when he went to check why the men were heading towards his vehicle.
It is also alleged the two men then left the address with a bottle of rum and the woman's handbag.
The male victim sustained significant injuries, requiring transport to Townsville Hospital.
The female victim sustained abrasions and lacerations, requiring surgery on her right knee.
At around 11.30am on Tuesday July 30, police located one of the men in the roof of an Abel Smith Parade address. After a coordinated police response and two hour negotiation, the man was removed from the roof and taken into custody.
