On Wednesday the Rotary Club of Mount Isa donated four Lazy-Boy recliners to the Special Care Nursery at the Mount Isa Hospital.
The donation was initiated after Treasurer Tracy Pertovt's baby granddaughter Alirah was born prematurely in March.
Alirah's mum, Kristin as well as Tracy spent numerous hours in the nursery with Alirah before being transferred to Townsville. They noticed how uncomfortable and awkward the chairs were for breastfeeding mothers and those that had given birth by C-Section.
Upon their return to Mount Isa the Board of the Rotary Club decided to make the lives of these families more comfortable whilst they spent long hours with their tiny babies.
