Thanks to the LMC Golf Challenge which was held on June 16, $532 was donated to Kathleen Swift the head of the Mount Isa Leukemia Foundation at the Leichhardt Medical Centre last week on Monday July 29.
Dr Jos Pouesi or commonly known as 'Dr Josh' said he was grateful for all those who helped raise funds.
"The golf tournament is a great day and is an annual event. Special thanks to everyone who showed their support," Dr Josh said.
Dr Josh explained just how important Leukemia treatment could be, with him recounting the story of Wallabies rugby player and fellow Samoan Christian Lealiifano, of whom he knows his family.
"Lealiifano was diagnosed with leukemia in 2016 but remarkably made his return to the Wallabies this year," Dr Josh said.
"We all thought he was never going to play again.
"For someone to come back and play such a physical sport after going through what he want through is incredible.
"It just goes to show how important it is to raise funds for treatments like leukemia."
