Twelve businesses decked out their shopfronts in the theme "Living Fossils" to help celebrate the 65th Isa Rodeo Anniversary and the 25th anniversary of the Riversleigh Fossil Site.
Workpac administration manager Leslie Bax said the competition was hard to judge given the amount of effort that had gone into each display.
"Each participant was very much into what they created and they were all very enthusiastic and grasped the fossil theme," Ms Bax said.
"There was a lot of research done and put into their displays and they showcased the evolution of the fossil and the history of how much that means to the Mount Isa area."
The Grand Champion for 13 employees or more was tied between Mount Isa City Council and Outback at Isa.
"At Council could see the amount of hours spend cutting out leaves, they had thousands of them with branches hanging down and all hand crafted," Ms Bax said.
"There was not a bare wall in the building, so you could imagine the man power that went into that masterpiece.
"Outback at Isa was very entertaining with Al's song that he had written for us, and he put a great show on."
Grand Champion for five employees and under went to Vivid Realty and Leesa Fanti won overall Best Dressed Employee.
"When we walked into Vivid we were just stunned with what they had there," Ms Bax said.
"All the employees got into character in outfits with Leesa Fanti dressed up fabulously in a cavewoman style outfit.
"Mary-Jane Caldwell from Elders also won Best Dressed Employee dressing up in a blow up dinosaur outfit and managed to stay in character the whole time."
Best Dressed School went to Eileen Fisher Kindergarten. Best Dressed Non-For-Profit went to Rainbow Gateway and Peoples Choice Award went to Queensland Country Credit Union.
"WorkPac have loved sponsoring this event this year and it would be great to see this competition continue each year.
"It definitely brightens up our town during rodeo week."
