If you thought Jockey Charlie Prow and trainer Dave McCann looked familiar you would be correct, having taken out the Express last year as well with the horse Georgie Girl.
Kelly's Last ran second in the 200 metre sprint in 2018 but went one better this time with Prow aboard
Prow said he was ecstatic but ultimately it was tactical thinking that got the job done.
"It feels good to win it again, especially with there only being half a second between all the horses," Prow said.
"My trainer and I decided to pull the horse out a lot wider on the harder surface,"
When questioned if we could still call him an amateur after his second mailman win in as many years Prow laughed.
"Well I used to be a professional, haha,"
Kelly's Last was the fastest of the 10 qualifiers and was last to race in the final.
Trainer Dave McCann said he made the decision to get Charlie to run a bit wider.
"We watched the other races closely and noticed that the horses that were running faster were the ones on the outside." McCann said.
