Sedan Dip celebrated 71 years of tradition over the weekend, as north west patrons travelled 100km north of Julia Creek for the festivities.

Sedan Dip Sport and Recreation Club president Patrick Hick said the weekend was unique for the region.
"We are have annual campdraft, amateur racing and rodeo over three days with bush people coming together and having good fun," Mr Hick said.
"There isn't really any other event where you get all three events."
Queensland State MP for Traeger Robbie Katter said we were lucky to be able to go to rodeos like Sedan Dip.
"One of the great things about living out west is that you get to come to these events," Mr Katter said.
"For a lot of these people they are are stuck out on a station for most the year so it is great for everyone to come together, dress up and catch up."
Traveller Rob McKenzie and his wife travelled all the way from Geelong Victoria.
"We crossed off Mount Isa rodeo on our bucket list last week and thought we should try and make it to Sedan Dip," Mr McKenzie said.
"We volunteered for two days before this event, we just wanted to help out, the community atmosphere and the outback really is unbelievable."
