A 24-year-old woman has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm after an incident with a mop and piece of timber, in Mornington Island.

At around 9.30pm on Friday August 9, it is alleged a group of people were drinking at a Kirdikir Street address, when one woman assaulted another.
The women were known to each other.
It is alleged the woman punched the victim and kicked her in the head.
Police will allege the woman further assaulted the victim, with a mop handle and piece of timber.
Police attended the scene and observed multiple minor injuries to the victim's face, legs and arms.
A 24-year-old Gununa woman has been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed, assault occasioning bodily harm-domestic violence offence and contravention of a domestic violence order.
She is due to appear in the Mornington Island Magistrates Court on Thursday August 29.
