North Queensland Regional Parliament will be held at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre from Tuesday September 3 to Thursday September 5.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said it was important that people in regional Queensland got the opportunity to see our democratic process in person.
"Local issues will be front and centre and the people of the region - including school children - will have the benefit of seeing their parliament in action," the Premier said.
"But what I am looking forward to most is showing off this beautiful part of Queensland and talking up its attractions for tourists and investors."
The Regional Youth Parliament and Junior Indigenous Youth Parliament will be held in Townsville in the days leading to the formal Parliamentary sitting.
Ministers and MPs will participate in events including an afternoon tea with community groups and volunteers, a Women on Boards luncheon and a State Reception with regional Mayors, Indigenous business and community leaders and school groups.
