It's not the first time women's softball has been played in Doomadgee, with the community showing interest in the sport previously with a team two years ago.
Constable Buckley said it was important that interest was maintained.
"The only rule is come one week and bring a friend the next week, to keep growing the numbers," Ms Buckley said.
"With a great turn out for the first week, all players had an absolute ball sharing some laughs, decent hits and catches."
Ms Buckley who has played softball for over 20 years said she was excited to see what the future holds.
"I am looking forward to the community engagement and witnessing some amazing softball skills from everyone, along with teaching and developing on these existing skills." Ms Buckley said.
Ms Buckley said there are many benefits of playing softball.
"It fosters community spirit and pride, improves self-esteem and self-worth and improves health and fitness," she said.
"It also allows a shared enjoyment with friends and family."
Softball will continue every Monday at 4.30pm on the grass grounds between the Doomadgee Police Station and Youth Hub.
