Council said work has begun to install the deck of the new bridge, with the first beam laid on the concrete headframe.
"The work will continue over the next few days, with 22 beams laid every day for the next four to five days, and will give people a chance to see the bridge taking shape," Council said.
Council said the area is a construction site and off-limits, however the work can be viewed safely from areas including the carpark on the corner of Isa Street and West Street, as well as the concrete footpath through the riverbed.
The project is set to be completed in November.
